Dr Lara Roeske
Dr Lara Roeske - Director of Education and Liaison

Dr Lara Roeske is a General Practitioner/ practice owner and an accredited education activity provider with the RACGP, who joined VCS as a Liaison Physician in 2009. Her interests include preventative health, women’s health and sexual health. Lara is actively involved in medical education at all levels, including presentations to staff, parents and students in schools.

Lara is current Chair of the Sexual Health Medicine Network, National Faculty of Specific Interests, Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Stella Heley
Dr Stella Heley - Senior Liaison Physician

Dr Stella Heley is a Sexual Health Physician and the Senior Liaison Physician at VCS. Well known to the GP and nursing community, Stella has spoken to hundreds of health practitioners over the years giving support to enable the best management of both the cervical screening program and sexually transmissible infections. Stella was a member of the HPV Vaccine Working Party of ATAGI (Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunization) prior to the introduction of the HPV vaccine onto the National Immunization Program in 2007. She has written on these topics for a number of medical journals and is regularly invited to speak at medical meetings.

Dr Wendy Pakes - Liaison Physician

BSc, BMedSci (Hons), MBBS (Hons), FRACGP.

Wendy is a Melbourne GP who has an extensive general practice background with a particular focus in medical education, women’s health and sexual health. Her previous role includes a position as the Director of the Sensitive Examinations Program, Department of Medical Education at the University of Melbourne. In her role as VCS Liaison Physician Wendy provides education to GPs, nurses and other clinicians involved in cervical screening.


Associate Professor Marion Saville - Executive Director of VCS Incorporated

Associate Professor Saville is the Executive Director of VCS Incorporated.
Associate Professor Saville is a cytopathologist with special expertise in gynaecological cytology, having trained at the Northwestern University, School of Medicine, Chicago, Illinois and with Professor Jan Silverman, then at the University of East Carolina. She is a past president of both the Australian and New Zealand Societies of Cytology. She chaired the Board of Examiners for the Australian Society from 2009 until 2013. She is an author on numerous peer reviewed publications. Associate Professor Saville has served on a number of cervical screening advisory committees in Australia and most recently was a member of the Renewal steering committee, a group established by the Australian Government to provide guidance to the Screening Subcommittee on the future of the National Cervical Screening programme.

Dr Siew Chin Lian
Dr Siew Chin Lian - Managing Pathologist


Dr Siew Chin Lian graduated with an MBBS from the National University of Singapore and trained in anatomical pathology at the Singapore General Hospital. She completed a one year post-doctoral Fellowship at the Department of Pathology, University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) in 1993. She obtained the FRCPA in 1998, and specialised in Gynaecologic pathology at the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Singapore. Siew Chin has been the Managing Pathologist at the VCS since 2008.

Dr Daryl Johnson
Dr Daryl Johnson - Pathologist


A graduate of Monash University, Dr Johnson trained in Anatomical Pathology at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.   He attained college fellowship in 2007 and has worked part time at VCS Pathology since 2008. 
He is also employed at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and has experience in a broad range of histopathology and cytology.

Dr Henry Yeung
Dr Henry Yeung - Pathologist


Dr Henry Yeung is a Hong Kong medical graduate completing his training in anatomical pathology at Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong. Dr Yeung also trained in cytopathology in Sydney, Melbourne & Adelaide. At the University of Hong Kong Dr Yeung assisted in the development of the cytopathology service, which was the only laboratory in Hong Kong specialising in cytopathology services particularly fine needle aspiration biopsy.
Dr Yeung later relocated to Melbourne and joined staff at VCS at the beginning of 1998.

Dr Kristy Dundas
Dr Kristy Dundas - Pathologist


Dr Kristy Dundas graduated in medicine from Melbourne University and subsequently trained in anatomical pathology at the Austin, Alfred and Royal Women’s Hospitals. She then pursued her interest in Cytology as a Fellow at the British Columbia Cancer Agency in Vancouver, Canada before returning to Melbourne as a consultant Pathologist at Cytopath, a practice specialising in gynaecological cytology and histology. Having worked in the private sector for several years she then visited the Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden. Here she gained further experience in gynaecological and non-gynaecological cytology before joining VCS in early 2002.
