Dr Lara Roeske is a General Practitioner/ practice owner and an accredited education activity provider with the RACGP, who joined VCS as a Liaison Physician in 2009. Her interests include preventative health, women’s health and sexual health. Lara is actively involved in medical education at all levels, including presentations to staff, parents and students in schools.

Lara is current Chair of the Sexual Health Medicine Network, National Faculty of Specific Interests, Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Stella Heley
Dr Stella Heley - Senior Liaison Physician

Dr Stella Heley is a Sexual Health Physician and the Senior Liaison Physician at VCS. Well known to the GP and nursing community, Stella has spoken to hundreds of health practitioners over the years giving support to enable the best management of both the cervical screening program and sexually transmissible infections. Stella was a member of the HPV Vaccine Working Party of ATAGI (Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunization) prior to the introduction of the HPV vaccine onto the National Immunization Program in 2007. She has written on these topics for a number of medical journals and is regularly invited to speak at medical meetings.

Dr Wendy Pakes - Liaison Physician

Wendy is a Melbourne GP who has an extensive general practice background with a particular focus in medical education, women’s health and sexual health. Her previous role includes a position as the Director of the Sensitive Examinations Program, Department of Medical Education at the University of Melbourne. In her role as VCS Liaison Physician Wendy provides education to GPs, nurses and other clinicians involved in cervical screening.

Dr Alexis Butler - Liaison Physician, Education

Dr Alexis Butler’s role at VCS comprises of providing cervical screening education for health professionals and helping the organisation of the Compass trial. She is the GP Liaison Physician at Peter MacCallum Hospital and for 8 years was the GP Education Consultant at The Royal Children's Hospital.

She has worked as a GP, in family planning and in mother baby units for many years in the UK and Melbourne.
